Shops and kiosks line the pier and offer momentos perfect to remember your day. Singers, street dancers, and magicians offer some great entertainment and are dying to be featured on your snapchat story. The Santa Monica Pier is famous for being the end to Route 66, which is commemorated by the Route 66 sign everyone takes pictures with (including my brother).
The best part of the Pier in my opinion is Pacific Park, the amusement park. For $32.95, you can purchase a wristband that allows you to have unlimited rides and unlimited fun. The rides include a Ferris Wheel, a Swinging Dragon, and the infamous Santa Monica Pier rollercoaster that has riders go through the entire fun zone. Pacific Park is fun for hours on end including carnival games that give out huge prizes, I am talking gigantic minion stuffed animals here. After a day full of fun, the restaurants on the Pier offer great food for a perfect end. My favorite place to eat is at Pier Burger where the fresh hamburgers, delicious fries, and peanut butter chocolate shakes are to die for. If burgers aren’t your craving, there are many other options for Seafood at The Albright, Southern at Bubba Gump Shrimp, Italian at Ristorante Al Mare, and Mexican at Mariasol Cocina Mexicana. You can find all the options and pricing at http://santamonicapier.org/food/. The Santa Monica Pier is also walking distance from the 3rd Street Promenade. Stay tuned for my next blog post! 🙂
